Landscaping and Masonry in Wilton, CT

Wilton sits right up Route 7 from our yard. We build walls, patios, drainage and plantings for its wooded, rocky lots, and we work around the ledge, the wetlands and the septic fields rather than through them.

Route 7 runs straight from our yard into Wilton along the Norwalk River. That makes Wilton one of the easiest places for us to work: quick site walks, short trips for materials and a crew that can get back to you the same day.

What building in Wilton involves

Rock, ledge and old stone walls

Wilton is wooded and rocky. Dig almost anywhere and you find glacial stone, and in many yards ledge sits close to the surface. The upside is the old fieldstone walls that run along so many Wilton roads and property lines. When we build new walls here, we use stone that sits comfortably beside them, and we can reset sections of old walls that have slumped or been pushed over by roots and frost.

Larger, sloped lots

Much of Wilton is zoned for larger lots, and many houses sit on a slope or a cleared shelf in the woods. That usually means grade changes to hold back, long walks from the driveway and steps that need to be safe in winter. Terraces, retaining walls and stone steps are a big part of what we build here.

Septic fields and wetlands

Outside the center, many Wilton homes are on private septic systems, and the town has plenty of wetlands and streams feeding the Norwalk River. Both shape where drainage can go and where machines can drive. We locate the tank and leach field before any digging, keep drainage and heavy equipment clear of them, and flag work near wetlands that may need the town’s inland wetlands approval.

Shade, leaves and deer

Tall trees mean shade, a heavy leaf drop every fall and deer that treat new plantings as a buffet. We plant for that: shade-tolerant, deer-resistant choices, and beds set up so fall cleanups are fast.

What Wilton homeowners usually call us for

How we work in Wilton

Every job starts with a free site walk. A foreman measures, checks grades, looks for ledge and listens to how you use the yard. You get one fixed written proposal, usually within 3 business days. The same crew builds the job from start to finish, cleans up every night and walks the finished work with you. Hardscape and masonry carry a 2-year workmanship warranty.

Questions we hear

Wilton questions

More answers

Do you work in Wilton, CT?

Yes. Wilton is a short run up Route 7 from our yard, so we’re regularly on site there for walls, patios, drainage, planting and maintenance. Site walks and estimates are free.

We hit ledge everywhere. Can you still build a patio or wall?

Usually, yes. Shallow ledge changes the plan more than it stops it. Sometimes we work the design around the rock, sometimes the rock becomes part of the design. We check for it on the site walk so the fixed price reflects what’s really in the ground.

Our house is on septic. Does that affect drainage work?

It does. Drains, dry wells and regrading have to keep water and heavy equipment away from the septic tank and leach field, and wet areas near a wetland or the Norwalk River can need approval from the town before work starts. We’ll map where everything is on the site walk and plan around it.
