Greenwich is at the western end of the towns we serve from our yard, and it holds just about every kind of property in Fairfield County. A Byram or Old Greenwich house near the water has different problems from a backcountry estate with a long drive, woods and acres of old stone walls.
What building in Greenwich involves
The shoreline
In Old Greenwich, Riverside, Cos Cob and Byram, properties take wind and salt off Long Island Sound, and some low-lying streets are slow to drain after storms. We choose stone, mortar, fixtures and plants that can handle salt, set hardscape on a deep compacted base and grade it so water moves away from the house. Work close to the shore can need coastal review, and we’ll tell you on the site walk if yours might.
The backcountry
North of the Merritt Parkway, lots get large, wooded and rocky, and many homes run on their own wells and septic. Old fieldstone walls line the roads and fields. New walls and terraces should look like they belong beside them, and the old walls often need sections reset. Drainage is planned around the septic field, and long driveways bring their own needs for lighting and winter work.
Rivers and wetlands
The Mianus and Byram rivers and many smaller streams run through town, and wetlands are common. Greenwich’s inland wetlands agency reviews work near them, so we check early whether your project is close enough to need it.
Properties that are used after dark
On bigger properties, walls, terraces, steps and trees are the bones of the landscape, and good lighting lets you see and use them at night. We install warm, low-voltage lighting that washes the stone and lights the walks without glare, set at dusk with you on site.

How we work in Greenwich
Every job starts with a free site walk. A foreman measures, photographs, checks grades and listens to how you use the property. You get layout drawings, material samples and one fixed written proposal, usually within 3 business days. The same crew builds the job from start to finish, cleans up every night and walks the finished work with you. Hardscape and masonry carry a 2-year workmanship warranty.
